Job Description:

The Physical Therapy Aide is a non-licensed worker who has completed the job training and works under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist to assist and carry out patient care to pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.

Experience/Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of patient care standards and practices in a physical therapy setting normally acquired through completion of a High School diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience, on the job training of complex technical duties, and a clear demonstration of competence at performing Physical Therapy Aide duties.
  • Previous applicable experience beneficial.
  • Current BLS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire - All clinical personnel in identified job codes are required to maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) training through independent study, online manikin and knowledge testing. An acceptable training program is the Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider course from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross Professional Rescuer Program with AED.   • A history of school and work performance that gives evidence of ability to meet the job requirements beneficial.
