Aspirus Wausau Hospital in Wausau, WI is seeking an Interventional Radiology Clinic Navigator / Patient Care Coordinator to join our team!

The IR Navigator/Patient Care Coordinator is a clinician who functions as an active health care advisor and advocate throughout the process of screening, diagnosis, and treatment of Interventional Radiology Care. Primary responsibilities include developing and providing patient education, support and answering questions about procedures and studies performed as part of the care processes in the IR Clinic/ Procedures. Additionally, responsibilities involve aiding prior authorizations and collaborating with the Radiology Prep Team to administer IVs and oversee patients in various modalities as required. This includes informing patients of the IR clinic results and arranging appropriate follow-up. They schedule patients for procedures, clinic visits, and imaging exams. This person will also coordinate interventions as needed to meet patient’s emotional and social needs. They will reach out to other departments and/or agencies to help facilitate patient and family physical, emotional and /or social needs. Some examples of this include home care agencies, social services, and transportation services.

HOURS: Full-time or .9 FTE, 72 hours every pay period. Varied day shifts.

Experience/Qualifications

  • Knowledge of patient care standards and practices normally acquired through completion of a nursing or Radiologic Technology program.
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing or Registered Radiologic Technologist
  • Previous Interventional Radiology Experience Preferred
  • Possess an active Wisconsin RN Nursing License or active Wisconsin Radiologic Technologist license
  • Current BLS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire - All clinical personnel in identified job codes are required to maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) training through independent study, online manikin and knowledge testing. An acceptable training program is the Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider course from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross Professional Rescuer Program with AED.   • Current ACLS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
