Aspirus Rhinelander Hospital in Rhinelander, WI is seeking an EXERCISE PHYSIOLOGIST to join our CARDIAC REHAB team!

Implements and provides ongoing clinical care for patients in programs within the Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation department.

HOURS: Full-Time of 0.6 FTE, 48 hours every pay period, Day only

Experience/Qualifications

  • Clinical knowledge and technical skills as they relate to cardiac and pulmonary rehab normally acquired through completion of a Master's Degree in Exercise Physiology or through a Bachelor's Degree with a concentration in Cardiac/Pulmonary Rehab.
  • Advanced coursework in cardiovascular/pulmonary physiology/pathology, cardiac/ pulmonary rehabilitation, exercise testing, prescription and ECG interpretation necessary to perform duties.
  • A minimum of two years' clinical experience in cardiac/pulmonary rehabilitation, cardiovascular care, and individual and group patient and/or community health education necessary to enhance and develop skills preferred.
  • Two years' medical experience preferred.
  • Experience in diabetic or other chronic disease patient population beneficial.
  • Certification by the American College of Sports Medicine as an Exercise Specialist or Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist within one year of hire. Certification is "not" required for Aspirus Cardiology Stress Lab.
  • Knowledge of medical practice required.
  • Current BLS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire - All clinical personnel in identified job codes are required to maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) training through independent study, manikin and knowledge testing. An acceptable BLS training program is the Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider course from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross Professional Rescuer Program with AED.   • American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support Provider Course or the American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support Provider Course including a hands-on skills practice session with an AHA ACLS or PALS instructor or by using a voice assisted manikin (VAM) system.
