Job Description:

The Applications Architect provides technical leadership and strategic direction for an enterprise application portfolio, ensuring systems are designed, integrated, and maintained in alignment with organizational goals and industry best practices. This role bridges business needs and technical solutions, translating strategic priorities into scalable, secure, and maintainable application architectures across the health system's clinical and business technology environment.

The organization may employ multiple individuals in this role; each assigned a specific area of focus based on organizational need. Assigned focus areas may change over time as priorities shift and may include (but are not limited to) clinical systems, enterprise business applications, integration and interoperability, automation and AI enablement, or data and analytics platforms.

The Applications Architect partners closely with IT leadership, application teams, security, infrastructure, and business stakeholders to establish architectural standards, evaluate emerging technologies, and guide decisions on system design, integration patterns, and platform selection. The role plays a key part in major initiatives such as EHR optimization, application rationalization, automation and AI enablement, and enterprise system integrations, helping the organization deliver reliable, high-quality technology solutions that support clinical operations and business transformation.

This position requires deep technical expertise combined with strong communication skills, as the Applications Architect regularly presents recommendations to senior leadership and works cross-functionally to build consensus around architectural direction.

This position is eligible for remote work; however, candidates must reside in one of the following states to be considered for employment: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas and Wisconsin.

    • Experience creating and delivering technical documentation including case studies, best practices guides, whitepapers and reference architectures needed for driving adoption.
    • Possess knowledge of ITIL framework concepts

    • Time away from work accrual.
    • Retirement plans available.
    • Wellness program for employees and their families.
